Our Mission

Established in 2022, SoDak Compost, is a locally-owned, organic recycling 501c3 nonprofit that offers easy, affordable solutions for Sioux Falls residents to divert their food scraps from the landfill. We strengthen our community’s connection to the problem of food waste, the potential of food scraps, and the promise of compost.

We are South Dakota’s first and only community composting nonprofit. Our mission is to create a culture around sustainability and raise awareness of the benefits of recycling surplus food and composting through workshops, community partnerships, and outreach.
